Penggunaan klasiber

Sudah genap satu semester aku ngajar di Informatika UII. Selama waktu itu, banyak hal yang perlahan-lahan aku pelajari. Salah satunya adalah perilaku mahasiswa terkait dengan pembelajaran mereka.

Kebetulan di teknik informatika kita menggunakan sarana belajar online yang kami sebut sebagai klasiber (http://klasiber.net). Ide awalnya si mungkin agar klasiber ini bisa membantu mahasiswa dalam belajar mereka. Akan tetapi, selama pembelajaran satu semester kemarin ternyata hal ini tidak banyak saya temui. Klasiber seolah malah jadi tempat pelarian bagi mereka yang jarang masuk dan atau tidak pernah nyatet di kelas. Artinya, mereka kemudian menggantungkan klasiber untuk dapat materi kuliah tanpa ada usaha untuk masuk ataupun mencatat yang disampaikan dosen kalau mereka masuk.

Dari sana saya mulai sedikit belajar, bahwa klasiber sebenarnya bisa dimanfaatkan tanpa membikin mereka jadi malas. Kuncinya adalah menjadikan klasiber sebagai pendamping dari pembelajaran di kelas, bukan
duplikasi dari pembelajarn di kelas. Artinya bahwa, pembelajaran di kelas akan lengkap dan mudah dengan pembelajaran mereka di klasiber.

Mulai semester pendek ini, saya tidak akan pernah ng-upload materi kuliah saya di klasiber. Mulai semester pendek ini, klasiber hanya akan saya gunakan untuk hal-hal sebagai berikut:
- upload software yang diperlukan untuk perkuliahan (misalnya untuk kuliah logika matematika, saya upload-kan multimedia logic – tentu saja yang ukurannya kurang dari 2 MB)
- pengumuman-pengumuman
- tugas-tugas dan kuis online
- dan tidak akan pernah ada lagi materi perkuliahan kelas yang diupload di klasiber

inginnya berdampak positif ternyata malah disalah gunakan, memang tidak ada jalan lebih efektif selain langsung mengajar di kelas :)

Android studio in ubuntu - problem: 'tools.jar' seems to be not in Android Studio classpath. Please ensure JAVA_HOME points to JDK rather than JRE.

I love coding, especially Java. Because Android apps is written in Java, I would love to make one as well. Unfortunately, when I tried to install Android Studio on my Ubuntu yesterday, I got this error message: 'tools.jar' seems to be not in Android Studio classpath. Please ensure JAVA_HOME points to JDK rather than JRE. When I google on this error, there are so many websites and forums discuss about this error as well as the solutions. However, in linux (or ubuntu in my case), sometime we have different environment so that the solution will not always work (sometimes we have to do another thing before or after that solution). And this also happen in this case. Here are what I did then: 1. Know what exactly the problem is: the problem is that the JAVA_HOME in my system did not point to JDK. Instead, it points to a JRE.
