Java is Everywhere

Java awalnya adalah sebuah bahasa pemrograman yang dibuat dalam sebuah projek rahasia pada tahun 1991 yang diberi kode "the green project". Projek rahasia ini bertujuan membuat sebuah bahasa pemrograman yang bisa berjalan di semua perangkat. Berkat usaha keras dari Ghosling, dkk, akhirnya terbentuklah sebuah bahasa pemrograman yang mereka beri nama 'Oak' (di kemudian hari, 'Oak' ini berubah menjadi 'Java').

Karena kemampuannya untuk berjalan di semua perangkat itulah maka sekarang Java berada dalam hampir semua bidang kehidupan. Berikut beberapa bidang dimana Java ada:
- dunia telekomunikasi: saat ini, Java digunakan sebagai front end dalam pengelolaan jaringan oleh kebanyakan operator telekomunikasi. Di dunia, Java digunakan kurang lebih oleh sekitar 180 operator telekomunikasi.
- dunia hiburan: Java digunakan dalam games (baik mobile,desktop, maupun online), juga ada dalam televisi, serta juga ada dalam Blu Ray.
- dunia otomotif: Java digunakan dalam controller otomatis (misalnya dalam iDrive-nya BMW yang digunakan untuk mengontrol dan memonitor komponen-komponennya).
- dunia penerbangan: Java digunakan dalam kontroller dan otomatisasi pesawat terbang.
- dunia penjelajahan angkasa luar: Java digunakan dalam robot-robot dan kendaraan luar angkasa.
- dunia keamanan dan transaksi: Java digunakan dalam smart card, ATM, eTransaction, dan lain-lain.
- dunia industri: Java digunakan dalam software-software monitor dan juga dalam CRM (mis: eGas -- untuk mengontrol debit gas).
- dunia seni: Java digunakan untuk seni digital. Salah satunya adalah dalam "project looking glass", sebuah projek untuk membuat desktop - windows - terlihat seperti tampilan 3 dimensi.
- dunia medis: Java digunakan dalam komunikasi jarak jauh (telemedicine), pengontrol alat-alat operasi, robot-robot kedokteran, dan lain-lain.
- dan lain-lain.

Jadi, bisakah anda membayangkan, kalau Java tidak ada dalam kehidupan anda?

For everything that matters, Java is There. Because Java is Everywhere....

Android studio in ubuntu - problem: 'tools.jar' seems to be not in Android Studio classpath. Please ensure JAVA_HOME points to JDK rather than JRE.

I love coding, especially Java. Because Android apps is written in Java, I would love to make one as well. Unfortunately, when I tried to install Android Studio on my Ubuntu yesterday, I got this error message: 'tools.jar' seems to be not in Android Studio classpath. Please ensure JAVA_HOME points to JDK rather than JRE. When I google on this error, there are so many websites and forums discuss about this error as well as the solutions. However, in linux (or ubuntu in my case), sometime we have different environment so that the solution will not always work (sometimes we have to do another thing before or after that solution). And this also happen in this case. Here are what I did then: 1. Know what exactly the problem is: the problem is that the JAVA_HOME in my system did not point to JDK. Instead, it points to a JRE.
